Bookillustrations

These are all inkwash illustrations for the book "Det blev en far".
I have layouted all the spreads with text and image so I can give the graphic designer at the publishing house a vague idea about where I wanna go with the spreads.

The Illustrations covers issues as: fear of getting a monster-child, how to organize your appartment/workspace...when you have to share it with a newborn, watching breastfeeding instructional videos, shopping for baby equipment, first father-son dialogue (about soccer), the dream of self-changing diapers, possible career choices for the kid, traveling with a kid that might start screaming, how to keep the dog from licking the baby in the face, first words

I hope you like it.

"It became a dad" -bookcover

Right now I am working on 15 B+W illustrations for a book intended for men who are about to get their first child. The book is called "It became a dad" (Det blev en far) and is written by Jacob Weinreich, a young author who have written a bunch of horrorbooks for kids. In this Book Jacob Weinreich is describing his experience of becoming a father, from the first phonecall from his girlfriend announcing her pregnancy, ending with his sons one year birthday.
Jacob is a sciencefiction, fantasy and B-movie geek, which means that everything he experiences is seen through a special set eyes. Every situation can refer to a scene from a movie, like Alien, Invasion of the Bodysnatchers etc.

I decided to stick with the authors film fascination, and not go for a scene from the book for the coverillustration. Instead I went for a bit of a filmposter-look inspired by old horrormovies. i ended up with a lobster-like creature who is being transformed into a father.

I hope you'll like it.

The B+W illustrations will be finnished mid june. I'll post some of them later on.

Best
Erik
