Illustration Friday: "Moon"

I did this illustration for a childrenbook a little while ago, but the image went well with this fridays theme, so I decided to post it here.

It show the young melodramitic rooster Paul (Pophans) singing in the night.....imagine a sensitive vulnerable Justin Timberlake kinda popsinger...as a rooster!

Here is a summary of the book:

The chicken run is going to find a new leading rooster. The old rooster is very ill and he asks the hens to choose between Pop-Paul or Tom. All the hens go all gooey when they hear Pop-Paul sing. But Tom can repair things and organize and that is also appreciated – especially by the older hens. But then one day the fox eats one of the hens and the two roosters realise that it is good to have different talents.

Illustration Friday: "Discovery"

I did this illustration of bikerider Ivan Basso, who discovers his dogs addiction to doping, for a danish newspaper last summer.

Doping in bikesports seems to have an everlasting actuality. Last year Ivan Basso and Jan Ulrich were banned from the Tour de France shortly before the race started, acccused of being clients of the spanish doctor Fuentes. Both riders recieved their blooddoping under an aliasname. Ivan Basso used the name 'Birillo', that was the name of his dog. Basso defended himself against the accusations for a long time, saying that he had nothing to do with it, and his dog wasn't called Birillo.

Basso is now suspended for two years. I hope this years Tour de France will have a clean/cleaner winner than last years 'winner' Floyd Landis. I cheer for Michael Rasmussen. Hopefully he will be able to keep the yellow jersey, ride strong in the mountains and awoid loosing too much time when it goes straight out instead of up.

The Illustration is done in Ink with photoshop coloring.

I hope you'll like it
