Yeaterday I won first prize in the J. F. Willumsen Graphic Novel competition. Besides the prize I won the right to develop my project with Rosinante Publishing house. There is a lot of work ahead before the book is done, but I look forward to the process of turning this artsit life and work into an interesting story, that will not only appeal to comicbook fans and fans of J. what can happen when one sketches in the mountains

Danish museum for the symbolist painter J. F. Willumsen (1863 - 1958) are having an art competition: "create a graphic novel/ comicbook about the artist his life and works".
I have spend lots an lots of hours digging into who he was and what he accomplished as an artist. In the beginning I thought he was somehow interesting, but as my knowledge about him got bigger, so did my passion about this project. hopefully I will win the competition, so I can continue working on this book project. The 25th. of February it will be announced at the J. F. Willumsen museum in Frederikssund.

Here are the two pages I have submitted: Willumsen is in Jotunheimen, Norway, sketching and painting mountains. He is trying to capture the essence of his experience of being in a big, brutal, cold and hostile nature. The observations he did in his sketchbook ended up being condensated into his breakthrough masterpiece "Jotunheim"

Bookcover: "Draw or die"

The publisher and editor of 'Aben Maler' Steffen Maarup asked if I wanted to do the cover for "Draw or die" in collaboration with him and rising star Signe Parkins.....and I was honored to be asked and did the inkwash drawing following Steffens guidelines. The book featuring deadly duels between 16 danish illustrators and comicbook artist will be release at the upcomming comicbook festival: Komiks.dk, held here in Copenhagen in two weeks. I will be signing the book there together with the other 15 participants.
