Atmosphere...being pulled down in the marl pit ("Mergelgraven") - a pitch for a illustrated book competition
Back in the beginning of 2010 I worked on a book pitch for a book competition with author Jens Blendstrup and playwrigt Joan Rang. We didn't win but will get together in the near future to figure out how and where we are gonna take the story......about a boy who falls into a dark marl pit, and comes up again change...and continues to change through the story...slowly turning into a wood-monster.

creepy illustration for a creepy story. love the composition of the first and third one, very simple but raised lots of questions.
Thanks for your comment Griselda.
I curious to see which direction the story will develop. I know it will be a creepy story with three friends, one of them will be altered through the story.
The book/ project is a collaboration between the two writers and me. We develop both story and images simultaneously and everybody contributes with both visual and storyline ideas.
The goal is to come up with an illustrated book, that has a higher degree of integration between words and text....some situations are better communicated through text and others though images.
I don't know when the book will be done, right now it's in a developing phase..... and I see it more as a learning process.
When the project moves ahead I'll let you know

Wow! I love the narrative and the visual, though I wish it would look as dark as the other horror story book illustrations you'd done! But I love it still!
